deep swamp

I had a concept assignment a while ago in school, and I wanted to redraw it .
What I was trying to go for was a part of the swamp were an alligator gang live. I wanted it to look evil like, a place nobody would like to go to. But, in order to get that message accross, I had to use a Disney'esc approach.

Professor Bananas

Meet Professor Bananas and his owl companion, together they will....play chess and do other things.
Taking over the world is not in their interest, seeing as Owl can't talk and Bananas is above that.

Forest concepts 3

I had a lot of fun drawing these ones up, I think they are my best thus far. I really like the close up shot of the trees on the second pic. I finally managed to add in just enough to make it look very foresty. most of the time I feel it really falls into place, but these two just worked.

Forest Concepts

Some concept designs that I was asked to do, for a character to walk around in. I used acrylic paints on bristle board.

Late Night Beggings

So I find my self starting this late at night, struggling to understand how the internet works when my head is ready to crash, but let my will power push me to finally get the ball rolling.
So lets start this off with some drawings that sum up for what I want to be when I grow up. Back Grand designer, someone who imagines the world around us to excite or terrify. So I was asked to put this to the test, and I was given simple words, Alien world, Coliseum and ....woods I think. I started with this.

So when I start out my doodles for the concepts, I tend to draw picks that i could draw as one pick that tells the whole story, cause I like to do that, kind of like how Norman Rockwell does his.
What i wanted to do what introduce tension to this scene, so I went with the scene were the human first comes out of the tunnel of fate to his death in the arena.

Now I needed to draw the alien creatures, and I wanted something that was ugly already to begin with, and this sense of fear or grossness that they alter their bodies with machines into alien cyborgs. The human didn't seem important enough to design, because it was all about the arena and the aliens.

And so this was the fruits of my labor for this test, and I think it came out pretty well. I would be freaking out if I arrived here... but of course any body would SOSHUTUP! But this is something that I enjoy doing, this never exited, and now I made it come alive. Is that Batman in the background?
